Rosalee H. Smith, 92, of Macomb, formerly of rural Adair passed away at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born on December 11, 1924 in Macomb to Leonard Frank and Sarah Augusta Gillam Parks. She married Duane H. "Buck" Smith on September 8, 1946 in Adair. He passed away on November 13, 2009.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Eugene Parks, Oscar Parks and George Parks.
She is survived by one son, D. James "Jim" (Karen) Smith of Adair; one daughter, Dixie (Roger) Rouse of Macomb; four grandchildren, Melissa Lillie, Stacey Rouse, Amanda Smith and Shawn Rouse; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Tanner and Cameron.
She lived most of her life in the rural Adair area where she and her husband farmed. She worked as a CNA at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb for thirty and a half years before her retirement. She also worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone for five years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and care giving.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Macomb and following her marriage was a member of the New Salem Christian Church in Adair.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Gary Elg officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pennington Point Cemetery west of Adair.
Memorials may be made to the Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church.
